Community Conversations: Assessing Information Literacy Online

Community Conversations is a quarterly discussion series that brings together high school and academic librarians across Kansas and Missouri together for collaborative learning and knowledge-sharing.  Each one-hour session provides a space for participants to discuss challenges, successes, and strategies on a particular topic in information literacy instruction.  Join us throughout the ‘26-’27 school year to connect with your colleagues across institutions!

Session Topic: Assessment is especially challenging in one-shot contexts, where time and access to student work are limited.  In today’s world it’s more important than ever to approach and assess information literacy as a process rather than a final product.  The discussion for this session will explore strategies for assessing student learning in ways that capture the processual components of information literacy.
