Community Conversations: Scaffolding AI Literacy Instruction Online

Community Conversations is a quarterly discussion series that brings together high school and academic librarians across Kansas and Missouri together for collaborative learning and knowledge-sharing.  Each one-hour session provides a space for participants to discuss challenges, successes, and strategies on a particular topic in information literacy instruction.  Join us throughout the ‘26-’27 school year to connect with your colleagues across institutions!

Session Topic: As students increasingly embed AI tools into their research processes, how can we effectively scaffold AI literacy from high school through college?  The discussion for this session will explore the differences in students’ skills, needs, and expectations across high school and college, and how librarians can build instruction that develops progressively across the continuum.
